Welcome Home, Amya & A’mora

There’s something sacred about preparing a space for a new life—and this past Rooting Day, we had the honor of doing just that for a beautiful young mother and her newborn baby girl.
Amya, nominated by our partners at Wellroot, is a shining example of strength, determination, and grace. At just 21 years old, she’s already walked through more than most. Her journey has been marked by hardship and abuse, especially from those who should have protected her, but Amya has never stopped fighting for a better life.
Even while pregnant, she worked full-time and never lost sight of her dreams. Now a part of Wellroot’s Rapid Rehousing program, she was supported in finding her very first apartment—a space all her own—and Rooted Interiors was honored to help make it feel like home.
Amya's vision for her space was clear and simple—she dreamed of a calm, modern feel with a gray, black, and white color palette. It was our joy to bring that vision to life, designing a space that reflected her personality while providing warmth and comfort for her and baby A’mora.
Speaking of A’mora—just three weeks old and already so deeply loved—we were overjoyed to shower this little one with all the baby essentials a new mama could need. From a cozy rocking chair for late-night feedings to a Mamaroo, changing table, wipes warmer, blankets, a stroller for those sunny spring walks, and so much more—every item was chosen with care and compassion. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, Amya and A’mora are starting this next chapter with so much support and love surrounding them.
Amya’s goals are big and beautiful—she hopes to re-enroll in college this fall (she previously attended Clark Atlanta before family challenges forced her to pause her education), and give her daughter the kind of life she never had. It was a gift for us at Rooted Interiors to play a small role in this next chapter of her story.
This day, like all Rooting Days, was only made possible by a community that believes in hope and new beginnings.
